Jaws (1975)
Jaws, the first American Horror film to become a blockbuster hit, was directed by whom most say is the best director to date. This film marked his beginning foot steps in hollywood, and started to make his name recognizable, not only in the film world, but in most American's minds. The director of Jaws, Steven Spielberg, is a name that everybody knows, and will never forget.
Jaws, is a story about a killer shark that invades the coast of a small town. The shark kills numerous individuals, before anybody starts to hunt for it. The film is the journey of man vs. nature, the hunt for the greatest killer shark.
Considering the MAJOR issues this film had in production, this film can only be considered one of the best. All the problems that occurred during production, the sinking of their ship (with their film on it), and the mechanical shark not working properly, only benefited the film for its release, and for the future of its name.
The set decoration, and costumes was phenomenal, portraying a real fishing town. The music in this film guided the suspense, and make it what it is today. I do not believe there is one person in America today, who does not know the iconic Jaws theme song. Overall this film went beyond expectations in the story, it excelled in set decoration, costumes, and music, and was perfect (if anything can be perfect) in editing.
Jaws will never be forgotten, even if Universal did rip down the ride to let Harry Potter move in.
